Star Anise, Organic

Star anise has a sweet, licorice flavor that can be used in baking sweet desserts or to season savory, spicy dishes. Star Anise is an ingredient in Chinese 5 Spice and can be found in some blends of Garam Masala. Use in Vietnamese Pho, Persian Biryani, and Thai Iced tea. Star Anise works well with poultry braises and root vegetables. Grind and use to make spiced cookies, gingerbread, or apple pie or use whole along with cinnamon to mull wine.
