Guayusa ("gwai-yoo-sa") is a type of holly native to the Amazon rainforest. Similar to mate or yaupon, guayusa had a herbal, grassy flavor. Though as herbal drink, guayusa does contain caffeine, almost rivaling coffee, perfect for a morning wake up cup of tea.
Brewing Suggestion: Use 1 tsp per 7-9 oz of boiling water. Steep 3-5 minutes.
