A rare yellow tea produced in the Anhui province, Huo Shan dates back to the Tang dynasty where it became a famous variant of green tea. The slender buds go through traditional pan firing. It has a sweet, chestnut like aroma, and brews a light green color with notes of sweet corn.

Yellow teas undergo the same process as green teas with an extra step where the tea leaves are wrapped before being completely dried so that they are similar to more fermented teas. The extra step mellows the flavor of the tea, resulting in a sweeter profile than green teas. The traditional art of producing yellow teas has been lost over the years as it is a time consuming process but there still are a few teas being produced where you can experience the flavor of these carefully curated teas.

Available in bulk by weight or in prepacked containers. Bulk orders are packed into one bag unless otherwise requested.
