Nigella, also called kalonji or black caraway seed, has a peppery, pungent flavor with an aroma similar to oregano. Nigella can be used whole or ground and is a component of the Bengali 5 Spice blend, Panch Phoron, which can be used with vegetable curries. Nigella dots Armenian string cheese and is sprinkled onto Middle Eastern flatbreads.
These Nigella Seeds are single origin spices, grown by a family of farmers in Fayoum.
