Kit Recipe
Ingredients You'll Need:
Salt ~1/2 Tsp
Main topping: Choose from grilled salmon, eggs, umeboshi, or pickled vegetables.
1-2 Tsps Soy Sauce
Optional: Wasabi, Rice Crackers
First cook the rice. Rinse the rice a couple of times and let drain well for at least 5 minutes. Add the rice, salt, and two cups of water to a pot over medium heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, cover and let cook for 10-15 minutes. Let rice rest for 10 minutes and absorb the remaining water. Check the rice; it should be tender. Fluff with a fork.
Build your bowl - Add rice, toasted sesame seeds, shichimi togarashi, and nori. Grate the dried shiitake mushroom. Add a splash of soy sauce and your main topping.
Finish with the tea. Heat 8 ounces of hot water to just before boiling. Add the Genmaicha, cover, and let steep for 3 minutes. Strain and pour over your bowl. Add rice crackers.
