Our single origin cumin is hand picked by foragers in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan. Because the cumin is used mostly for local consumption, we are lucky to have a supply from one of the only importers of this wild cumin. Smaller and darker in color than Indian cumin, Wild Mountain Cumin has a strong, savory flavor, reminiscent of onions and smoke. Try lightly toasting in a pan, heating in oil, used either whole or ground to add, and added to Persian, Mexican, Indian, and Chinese dishes to bring a different dimension and depth of flavor.
