Cumin, Wild Mountain, Afghanistan
Cumin, Wild Mountain, Afghanistan
This single origin cumin is hand picked by foragers in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan. Because the cumin is used mostly for local consumption, we are lucky to have a supply from one of the only importers of this wild cumin. Smaller and darker in color than Indian cumin, Wild Mountain Cumin has a strong, savory flavor, reminiscent of onions and smoke. Try lightly toasting in a pan, heating in oil, used either whole or ground to add, and added to Persian, Mexican, Indian, and Chinese dishes to bring a different dimension and depth of flavor.
Available in bulk by weight or in prepacked containers. Bulk orders are packed into one bag unless otherwise requested. Prepacked containers are packed by weight, not volume. Sizing guides are approximate and may change from harvest to harvest.
