Ginger has a peppery flavor that works well with allspice, garlic, chiles, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg. As such, it can work with sweet and savory dishes. Pumpkin bread, apple pie, sweet potatoes, poached fruit and French toast are all lifted by the addition of ginger. Add to curries, stir fries, seafood dishes, and roasted vegetables. Steep on its own to help soothe motion sickness or coughs or add to tea for a spicy brew.
