Sage is a member of the mint family and imparts a peppery, savory flavor to dishes. Sage is a popular ingredient in sausage, stuffing, and roasted chicken. It does well in long simmering dishes where it can develop its flavor like a braise, ragu or pot of beans. But it can also have a lighter touch, simply sprinkled onto cheese or baked into cookies. And like most dried herbs, it can be brewed for a cup of tea.
