Yaupon is a holly plant similar to Guayusa and Yerba Mate but in native to the southern United States. Long used by native Americas, Yaupon is a naturally caffeinated herb, with little tannin, and is great for multiple infusions as it does not over extract and become bitter easily. Yaupon tastes nutty, a bit like Genmaicha, but with the body of a black tea and mild sweetness. Try hot or cold brewed.
Brewing Suggestion: Use 1 tsp per 8 ounces of water at 200°F for 3-7 minutes. Multiple infusions.
